After taking their first loss of the season while on the road last week at Connors State College, the Sooner State was a bit more accommodating to the Red Devils over the weekend while competing at the Northern Oklahoma Classic.

The Allen Red Devils picked up a pair of wins while participating in the Northern Oklahoma Classic over the weekend.

After opening the showcase Friday with a 76-75 win over host school Northern Oklahoma, the Red Devils followed up with a 102-81 victory against Redland Community College Saturday.

In the opener, it was a dogfight until the final whistle as Allen pulled away late. Freshman guard Moses Stephenson had a team-leading 24 points while hitting 3 of 5 from the 3-point line and 10 of 13 field goals. Sophomore guard Jayson Demcher had 19 points and a team-leading nine rebounds and tied Stephenson for the lead in steals with one each. ACC freshman guard Derrick Cooper and freshman guard Clyde Davis Jr. also reached double digits with 11 and 10 points respectively. Davis also had a team-leading six assists.

The Red Devils wrapped up their trip with a 102-70 blowout of Redlands. Allen ended the first half ahead with a 15-point advantage 52-37, then put on the afterburners in the second half.

Davis posted the team lead in scoring, assists, steals and rebounds with 23 points, two steals, six assists and six rebounds. Stephenson, Demcher and freshman forward Logan Shockley had 17 points apiece, followed by freshman forward Sheen Saunders Jr., who came off the bench for 11 points.
